Understanding The New EU Cookie Legislation
Last May, a new law came into effect in the European Union (EU) that changed the whole landscape of how websites gather your information each time you used a search engine, or each time your visited a site. Known as the EU Cookie Law, it deemed the use of cookies illegal, and required that websites ask and secure each visitor’s consent to use web cookies.
What are Cookies?
For the uninformed, cookies are a technology that takes the form of small text files, making it possible for websites to remember information by storing this small amount of data on your browser each time you visit. This way, your browser can remember if you are logged on to a site, if you have visited a site previously, and what your browsing preferences are.

Quick Checklist Before Setting Your Website Live
Every website design is different but here are a few points to clarify before you set your website live.
- Website Copy Checks – Tip – ensure you content is optimised and correctly worded for both search engines and humans
- Check your spelling is correct
- Check your tone of voice
- Check your contact details are correct
- Check through any ‘hidden’ copy on the website
- Make sure your not going live with any test copy on your site e.g Lorem ipsum..
- Invest in an SEO copywriter to ensure your content is as good as it can be
